William S. Burroughs: A Man Within

William S. Burroughs was a controversial figure in the 1950's and through out the 60's during the peak of the peak of the Beat Generation. He was a novelist, an essayist, painter, and an outspoken social critic. He wrote some of the most acclaimed and controversial novels in American History; mostly dealing with his personal life struggles such as his opiate addiction, which marked a great effect in his last 50 years of life. His literature was that of an abstract Avante-garde style, and he influenced and attracted many figures of the pop culture. Initially, his work was acknowledged and he was elected to the AAIA in 1975.
Now, for the first time a documentary of such great figure has been developed, showcasing the controversial lifestyle of this figure, his effect on literature, and his many personal demons. Check out the 5 minute trailer below.
